Hello everyone! My name is 高莫娜 Mona and I am an experienced Early years educator with a professional background of 13 long years. I earned my degree from Education University of Hong Kong specializing in Early years. The knowledge I gained from my knowledgeable and prolific teachers made me wonder how many people actually think that early years is such an indispensable necessity for toddlers.
Mostly take it as a place where kids do counting and numbers. Only through my learning experience I found out that alphabets and numbers are a fraction of content which kids learn at a playschool. Their self-esteem, self-respect and independence are nurtured in a secure and trustworthy environment. It is a place where young minds are taught the basic skills which are inevitable for their survival in the years to come.
The early years educators who are paid the least are the ones who are busy building a nation who are the future of their society. We learn to arouse artistic skills among young learners, sharpen their fine and gross motor skills through proper physical fitness and health training, build up their language abilities through extensive language reinforcement, work on their social skills and many at times become their counselors so as to make the child better adjusted in the society and of course polish their cognition abilities through brainstorming and problem solving situations.
This all made me stick to the Early years education as it is hard to find passionate educators for this age group. I took it as a responsibility to do my part with all my dedication and passion and vowed to myself to make a difference among young kids under my supervision. All these years had been very rewarding. I have taught hundreds of kids, met lot many parents, worked with amazing team of educators and always felt proud of my choice. I was yearning to start an educational blog for a long time, where I can discuss daily issues, give advice to parents if they need, help students who are seeking help or just vent out my feelings. So finally I am up here with my very first blog. I hope you’ll respond with a positive feedback. I’ll be blogging regularly from now on with important topics revolving around young learners. Stay tuned!
